Sunday, January 5, 2020  - 3:00 p.m.

Saint John's Episcopal Church

Celebrate the New Year with music from Elizabethan England!

Parthenia and soprano Sherezade Panthaki present a program of songs, dance suites, and fantasias to celebrate the conclusion of the 12 days of Christmas – Twelfth Night! They perform works by William Byrd (reputed to be Queen Elizabeth I’s favorite composer), Thomas Morley, John Bull, and Thomas Ravenscroft, as well as traditional carols, including the familiar “Greenseleeves.”

Parthenia is a quartet of “viols,” stringed instruments that were extremely popular in European music from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment. The instruments blend together with a rich, resonant sound that will warm your spirit on a winter’s afternoon.

Tickets are no longer available for purchase online, but they will be available at the venue before the concert.

Will call tickets will be at the entrance on S. Atlanta Ave.
