Welcome to our 66th season. The obvious correlation to Tulsa's most famous road inspired us to reflect upon and celebrate the journey Chamber Music Tulsa began in 1954.
The grand vision of a highway connecting Chicago to Los Angeles was a product of the great industrialization of the nation and the mobility made possible by the automobile. The development of Route 66 was powered by the oil discoveries that were vital to Tulsa's growth as a vibrant and prosperous city. That oil boom legacy surrounds us today in our Art Deco heritage.
Over time, the “Mother Road” became a mythic symbol of American adventure and opportunity, and the freedom of the open road. The highway linked disparate places; similarly, chamber music fosters connectedness. For 66 years, Chamber Music Tulsa has drawn us together, connecting our audiences with the wider world of great music and musicians.
Celebrate our journey with us. Together we will share the transformative beauty of chamber music.

Parthenia Viol Consort
with Sherezade Panthaki, soprano
Sunday, January 5, 2020 - 3:00 p.m.
Saint John's Episcopal Church
Celebrate the New Year with music from Elizabethan England!
Parthenia and soprano Sherezade Panthaki present a program of songs, dance suites, and fantasias to celebrate the conclusion of the 12 days of Christmas – Twelfth Night! They perform works by William Byrd (reputed to be Queen Elizabeth I’s favorite composer), Thomas Morley, John Bull, and Thomas Ravenscroft, as well as traditional carols, including the familiar “Greenseleeves.”
Parthenia is a quartet of “viols,” stringed instruments that were extremely popular in European music from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment. The instruments blend together with a rich, resonant sound that will warm your spirit on a winter’s afternoon.
