Chamber Music Tulsa
Collegiate Scholarships
Established in 2000, the scholarship honors the 30-year tenure of Robert Heckman, former manager of Chamber Music Tulsa. The scholarships are made possible by a partnership with Hyechka Tulsa for venue and adjudicating. This year’s audition is Saturday, April 14, 2012, Hope Unitarian Church, 8432 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK. Deadlines for application are March 28, 2012. Application: (click here).
In 2011 three scholarships of $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third were awarded to talented young artists.
Awards were presented May 4, 2011 to:
Daniel Fellows, viola, first place winner.
Isaac Washam, trombone, second place winner.
Daniel Phillips, marimba, third place winner.
Tulsa Young Chamber Musician Fellowship:
Chamber Music Tulsa and the Barthelmes Conservatory Music School in Tulsa will once again collaborate during this Season to support the Tulsa Young Chamber Musicians. Members of the performance team include scholarship students ages 8 to 17 in piano quartets, a piano quintet, a piano trio, a string quartet and even a four-hand and six-hand piano.
Designed to appeal to young people and introduce newcomers to chamber music, these skilled and passionate up-and-coming artists, with their well-rehearsed programs, are inspiring young arts attendees to come back for more.

During this season the Tulsa Young Chamber Musicians will perform in a variety of local Tulsa events and venues, including the Tulsa PAC Trust Brown Bag It series, Central Library’s Music Sandwiched In Series, St. Simeon Retirement Center, pre-concert performance at Tulsa Symphony Orchestra’s production of England, the German-American Society of Tulsa, Sharp Memorial Chapel with University of Tulsa Orchestra and Philbrook Museum of Art’s Festival of Trees event.
